Job description

Aspire People is currently recruiting on behalf of a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in East London for a passionate Humanities Teacher to join their team from September. This full-time position is ideal for both experienced teachers and enthusiastic ECTs looking to grow their careers in a supportive and ambitious school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging and thought-provoking Humanities lessons (History, Geography, or Religious Studies) across Key Stages 3 and 4
Foster a dynamic classroom atmosphere that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and discussion
Assess, track, and report on student progress in accordance with departmental and school expectations
Differentiate teaching to support the needs of SEN , EAL , and high-achieving students
Contribute to curriculum planning and development within the Humanities department
Uphold high standards of behaviour and academic expectations in line with school policies
Take part in school activities, enrichment programs, and wider community initiatives
Commit to continuous professional development and collaborative departmental work

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Strong subject knowledge in at least one core Humanities discipline (History, Geography, or RS)
Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills
A reflective, inclusive, and enthusiastic approach to teaching and learning
A firm commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
