Job Title: Humanities Teacher
Location: Newcastle
Salary: £150 - £220 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Daily Supply, Long-term

About the Role / Role Overview:
As a Humanities Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons across subjects such as History, Geography, and Religious Education (depending on your specialism and experience). You will be expected to plan and teach effectively, manage classroom behaviour positively, and help students develop a deeper understanding of the world and its cultures. You ll play a vital role in shaping curious, thoughtful, and informed learners.

Responsibilities of the Humanities Teacher:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality lessons in History, Geography, or Religious Studies that inspire and challenge students.
  • Create well-structured schemes of work aligned with the national curriculum.
  • Monitor pupil progress through effective assessment and constructive feedback.
  • Foster a classroom culture of respect, curiosity, and academic enthusiasm.
  • Participate in departmental planning and whole-school initiatives.
  • Uphold safeguarding standards and promote the welfare of all students.

Requirements of the Humanities Teacher: To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Humanities subjects in a UK school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to adapt your teaching style to meet pupil needs.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
