Job Title: Humanities/PSHE Teacher (PRU) - Liverpool

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Humanities/PSHE Teacher to join a dynamic Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Liverpool. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people who face barriers to mainstream education. The successful candidate will teach PSHE, including Sex and Relationships Education, across Key Stage 3, alongside Humanities subjects (History, Geography, or Religious Education - any specialism welcomed).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in PSHE (including Sex Education) and Humanities to KS3 pupils.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students who present challenging behavior.
  • Support pupils with emotional, social, and behavioral needs in a small group setting.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs and EHCPs where applicable.
  • Work collaboratively with the PRU team and contribute to a safe, supportive learning environment.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is highly desirable, but strong unqualified teachers with relevant experience will be considered.
  • Background in History, Geography, or Religious Education.
  • A genuine interest or experience in teaching PSHE, including Sex and Relationships Education.
  • Experience working with pupils with challenging behaviour, SEMH, or in an alternative provision or PRU setting.
  • Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills.
  • Resilient, empathetic, and committed to inclusive education.
