Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Humanities Teacher to join a school. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and inspiring lessons in subjects such as History, Geography, and Religious Studies across KS3 and KS4, fostering critical thinking and a passion for the humanities. This role begins September 2025.

Duties as a Humanities Teacher:

  1. Plan and deliver high-quality Humanities lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
  2. Inspire students to develop analytical skills, cultural awareness, and a love for history, geography, and social studies.
  3. Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  4. Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners.
  5. Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.
  6. Contribute to the wider school community, including extracurricular activities and trips.
  7. Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the Humanities department.
  8. Ensure the safeguarding and well-being of all pupils.

Ideal Humanities Teacher:

  1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree.
  2. Experience teaching Humanities subjects at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable).
  3. Strong subject knowledge and a passion for History, Geography, and/or Religious Studies.
  4. Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  5. A commitment to student progress and achievement.
  6. A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
