Job description

This is a vibrant and inclusive school committed to fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning. We are seeking a passionate Humanities Teacher to inspire students in subjects such as History, Geography, and Religious Studies, helping them develop an understanding of the world and its diverse cultures. This role begins September 2025.

Duties as a Humanities Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Teach a combination of Humanities subjects, including History, Geography, and Religious Studies.
  • Develop students' critical thinking, research, and analytical skills.
  • Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Encourage debate and discussion on key historical, geographical, and ethical topics.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the Humanities curriculum.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities such as field trips, school events, and enrichment clubs.

Ideal Humanities Teacher:

  • Holds QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Has experience teaching Humanities subjects in a secondary school setting.
  • Is passionate about developing students' understanding of the world and its history.
  • Has excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Is committed to professional development and working collaboratively as part of a team.
