Job summary

Haleon is seeking a Human Rights Lead for a 12-month fixed term from January 2027 to January 2028. You will partner with Sustainability, Procurement, and HR to advance Haleon’s human rights agenda and provide SME insights across the business.

Based in the Sustainability function and reporting to the Social Impact Director, you will strengthen due diligence, build capability, engage with industry coalitions, and drive transparent reporting while ensuring effective governance and risk management.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of the human rights landscape including emerging legislation.
• Experience with modern slavery, labour standards, and supply chains.
• Experience in developing human rights policies and implementation guidance.
• Experience performing human rights due diligence using UNGP and OECD guidelines.
• Undergraduate degree and postgraduate qualification (preferred).
• A thorough approach to task with a close attention to detail.
• Thrives in a fast-paced work environment.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to present, explain and discuss results of analyses to drive fact-based decision-making

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of Haleon's Human Rights Strategy and Action Plan to ensure due diligence and disclosure requirements are met.
• Strengthen human rights due diligence processes for operations and suppliers with a risk-based approach.
• Build capability across the business to identify and manage Human Rights risks including high-risk supply chains.
• Lead engagement in industry coalitions (UNGC, PSCI, Aim-Progress, Slave Free Alliance, BSR).
• Manage internal human rights governance forums and associated risk and audit processes.
• Deliver Human Rights reporting (Human Rights Statement, Health Inclusivity and Sustainability report).
• Provide SME on other risk areas such as Labour standards.
• Monitor programmes to ensure effective delivery.
• Line manage 1 x Human Rights Manager.

About the role

12 Month Fixed Term Contract from January 2027 to January 2028

We are looking for a Human Rights Lead to work with our Sustainability, Procurement, Human Resources, and other relevant teams to help deliver our strategy to drive progress on Haleon's Human Rights agenda. This role will also be responsible for providing subject matter expertise (SME) on human rights, liaising across the business whilst also helping to build capability across key business functions. Situated within the Sustainability function, reporting to the Social Impact Director, this role will be pivotal to Haleon's wider Health Inclusivity and Sustainability Strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the ongoing delivery of Haleon's Human Rights Strategy and Action Plan to ensure Haleon meets rising requirements for human rights due diligence and disclosure
• Strengthen Haleon's human rights due diligence processes and practices to meet rising external requirements - working closely with the functions to put in place a robust, risk based due diligence for our own operations and our suppliers and ensuring effective remediation action is taken where risks are identified
• Build capability across the business to identify and effectively manage Human Rights risks, with first focus on high-risk areas (e.g., high risk ingredient supply chains, CMOs, Logistics)
• Lead Haleon's engagement in key industry coalitions/partnerships (e.g. UNGC, PSCI, Aim-Progress, Slave free Alliance, BSR) to enable Haleon to benefit from industry best practise and scale solutions to managing human rights risks
• Manage Haleon's internal human rights governance forums, and associated risk and audit processes as required
• Deliver Human Rights reporting (Human Rights Statement, Health Inclusivity and Sustainability report.)
• Note requirements are increasing (as with other ESG topics).
• Provide subject matter expertise on other risk areas e.g., Labour standards, advising HR/other functions on best practice.
• Monitor to ensure programmes are effectively delivered
• Management of 1 x Human Rights Manager

Qualifications and skills

• Experience with human rights topics such as modern slavery, labour and working conditions, and supply chain/ responsible sourcing
• Experience of developing human rights policies and implementation guidance
• Experience in undertaking human rights due diligence using standards such as the UN Guiding Principles and OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises,
• Undergraduate degree and a post-graduate (preferred) qualification in a relevant area.
• A thorough approach to task with a close attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to present, explain and discuss results of analyses to effectively drive fact-based decision-making
