Haleon in the United Kingdom is seeking a Director, R&D Procurement - Global to lead the strategic sourcing of pre-clinical, clinical, lab and outsourced services, managing £80m+ spend. The Director, R&D Procurement - Global will have responsibility for our Global R&D spend (Pre-clinical, Clinical, Lab, Outsourced Services) and reports into Global Directs & Innovation Procurement. The role interacts with senior stakeholders in R&D, Supply Chain, Commercial and Finance and directly covers £80m+ in spend. Additionally, the role: Develops strategic end-to-end sourcing strategies for a defined portfolio Requires high cultural awareness Plans, leads, and oversees negotiations Builds and delivers a Procurement strategy across the portfolio and cross-BU Creates and implements Procurement initiatives/strategies which improve quality of service and supply, innovation pipeline and produce significant cost savings across business units or supply networks Knows and utilises complex business processes in all Haleon supplier transactions, including risk, regulatory and compliance requirements Significant external supplier and market knowledge Leads, manages, and develops a team of procurement managers to facilitate delivery of the primary role purpose described above.

In this role you will… Develop a comprehensive procurement strategy for R&D outsourced services and lab items that ensures high-quality services and protects Haleon’s competitive position Collaborate with key stakeholders to deploy strategies globally, facilitated by robust implementation and transition plans Generate value across quality, delivery, cost and innovation, contributing significantly to the organisation’s goals and objectives

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a spend of £80m+ by creating comprehensive global sourcing strategies, operating with a truly global and strategic mindset
• Build strategic relationships with senior Haleon stakeholders to understand business requirements, identify value opportunities and position Procurement’s value proposition
• Create compelling business cases for change and secure approval from senior stakeholders across Haleon Commercial, Supply Chain and other relevant functions
• Lead contract planning, negotiation, execution and maintenance, working with Legal to take agreements from draft to completion
• Deliver global benefits identified in strategies through effective strategy execution, aligned to assurance of supply (risk management), compliance, quality, service, cost, simplification and innovation
• Engage stakeholders, Finance and other relevant functions in the sourcing strategy delivery and execution
• Build senior-level supplier relationships and ensure business unit considerations are reflected in supplier management
• Lead and direct category & innovation teams within scope of responsibility
• Build the organisational capabilities needed to implement Haleon’s strategy now and in the future
• Ensure appropriate communication strategy is in place and in use within the relevant Procurement and business customer networks

Qualifications & Skills

• Education Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred
• Relevant background in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business or Science Experience
• Significant procurement experience, including leading teams
• Subject matter expertise in Clinical Studies sourcing and R&D outsourced services
• Strong understanding of relevant regulatory environments and supplier markets
• Proven ability to deliver multi-year strategies that create competitive commercial advantage
• Experience managing large projects and end-to-end service or operations delivery
• Skills & Leadership Build trusted relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders
• Lead complex negotiations and manage contract planning, execution, interpretation and maintenance
• Apply strong project and change management skills to deliver outcomes at pace
• Use sourcing tools, market insight and category trends to shape effective strategies
• Bring strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills
