Job Description:

Our client is a highly successful US multinational that operates in its niche of life sciences in multiple countries across the world. As a result of continued growth, they are now seeking a Human Resources Manager for the UK.

Reporting into the HR Director EMEA, the role has accountability for supporting the UK leadership team in all areas of Human Resources and recruitment in the UK for approximately 100 staff.

We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on HR Business Partner, perhaps seeking their first opportunity as HR Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of human resources practices and processes. You will support business needs and ensure the proper implementation of company strategy and objectives. The goal is to promote corporate values and enable business success through effective human resources management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the development of effective workforce planning to ensure that management are aware of knowledge/skill gaps and that the company's talent management pipeline, HR strategies and initiatives are aligned with overall business strategy
  • Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other performance issues, supporting management where appropriate
  • Manage the company's recruitment and selection process.
  • Play a key role in helping the leadership team to develop and maintain a modern work culture, focussed upon continuous improvement and achieving objectives that supports the development of colleagues across the business.
  • Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of human capital
  • Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance
  • Contribute ideas and initiatives to ensure a fair and effective compensation strategy that reflects the desire to attract and retain exceptional talent. Support the company's payroll team as needed.
  • Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs
  • Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management

Requirements & Skills:

  • Demonstrable track record of success (5 years+) as an HR professional, capable of an HR Manager role in a fact-based, data driven environment, comfortable with the demands of a US headquartered firm.
  • Able to operate effectively in a matrixed company and to deal with ambiguity proactively when necessary.
  • People-oriented and results-driven
  • Demonstrable experience with HR metrics
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases
  • Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
  • Knowledge of employment law and HR best practices to ensure that best practice is adopted and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field; HR certification (e.g. CIPD) is a plus
