Employee Relations Manager/HR Manager, Portsmouth, up to c£70,000 plus car allowance and excellent benefits, 12-month Fixed Term Contract

Our client is a large, well-established organisation going through an exciting period of change and transformation. As part of their evolving people agenda, they are seeking to appoint an experienced ER/IR Manager to strengthen their capability within their people team.

Reporting into the Head of HR, this is a specialised role which will support the site leadership team on the full ER/IR agenda. You will take the lead on the integration of all Employee Industrial Relations initiatives across the site, ensuring strategies are aligned and successfully delivered. You will act as a key partner to senior leaders, managers, and employee representatives, supporting complex people issues, driving business-focused ER/IR solutions, and ensuring effective collaboration across Centres of Expertise. In addition, you will lead key projects, provide case coaching support, and contribute to the development of policies and practices that improve efficiency and deliver real business impact.

You will be an experienced ER/IR professional with proven knowledge across employee / industrial relations, reward, and generalist HR disciplines, ideally gained in a unionised or manufacturing/project-based environment. Comfortable operating at pace, you will bring strong analytical skills, sound judgement, and the ability to influence at all levels. Excellent stakeholder management, coaching capability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential, as is the ability to lead and develop a team.
