Job summary

ABL Recruitment seeks an experienced HR Manager in Milton Keynes to lead a broad HR function in a hands-on role reporting to senior leadership. This permanent, office-based position covers employee relations, recruitment, performance, development and wellbeing, with scope to improve processes and shape the employee experience.

You will oversee HR policies, ensure compliance with UK employment law, and partner with managers on workforce planning and engagement to drive business performance.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of people management and HR processes.
• Experience handling employee relations cases (disciplinary, grievance, capability).
• Ability to develop and maintain HR policies in line with legislation.

Key Responsibilities for a HR Manager

• Provide proactive HR advice and guidance to managers and employees across a broad range of people matters.


• Manage employee relations cases including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence, and performance matters.


• Develop, review, and maintain HR policies, processes, and procedures in line with employment legislation and best practice.


• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, appraisals, and ongoing employee development.


• Work closely with senior leadership on workforce planning, organisational development, employee engagement, and business improvement initiatives.


• Support the effective management and compliance of company-wide operational responsibilities alongside the HR function.


• Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, employee experience, and organisational effectiveness.

Key Skills for a HR Manager

• CIPD Level 7 or equivalent experience


• Up to date knowledge of UK Employment Law
