The Opportunity

The College is seeking a highly experienced HR Manager to lead, manage and continuously develop its Human Resources function. This is a key post at the heart of the College’s operations, ensuring professional, responsive and legally compliant HR practices that support the College’s strategic objectives and promote a positive work culture.

As HR Manager, you will act as a trusted adviser to the Principal and Director of Finance and Operations, as well as the College Leadership Team on all people related matters. This is a rare opportunity to shape and influence across both strategic and operational levels.

In this pivotal role, you will provide expert advice and leadership across all areas of HR, including employee relations, workforce planning, recruitment and policy development. You will oversee the entire employee lifecycle, ensuring a professional and positive candidate experience through the effective use of digital platforms and strict adherence to safeguarding requirements.

You will lead on complex employee relations casework, ensuring legal compliance, consistency, and discretion at all times. In addition, you will manage a small team of HR support and administrative staff to ensure that a high standard of service delivery is provided to meet the operational requirements of the College. Beyond the core HR functions, you will contribute to cross College initiatives aimed at enhancing staff wellbeing, engagement and development. You will also play a key role in supporting strategic decision making around organisational change, resourcing and staff development.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HR professional who holds Chartered membership of the CIPD (MCIPD). You will have strong, up to date knowledge of UK employment law, HR policies, and best practice, combined with excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

You will be confident in your ability to influence and lead at all levels across the organisation, building strong and effective relationships with Trade Unions. A collaborative and proactive approach, sound professional judgement and high levels of discretion are essential in this role.

Experience in a similar HR leadership role within an educational or comparably complex environment is highly desirable.
