This opportunity is for an HR Manager with a completed bachelor’s degree and extensive knowledge of union-manufacturing labor relations and labor laws, and a minimum of 5 years of experience working in a multifaceted capacity in a large plant with more than 350 employees. Relocation assistance is offered, and the location is in the York, Pennsylvania, area.

Responsibilities
- The HR Manager will be responsible for employee relations, recruiting, training, and coordinating the work activities for 500+ employees.
- This role is responsible for performing HR-related duties in the following functional areas: employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment, and employment law compliance.
- Understands all HR policies, union policies, procedures, and guidelines; communicate and reinforce organizational values.
- Plans, prepares documents and conducts HR related functions from onboarding through the life-cycle of employment that fosters positive employee relations.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements ensuring adherence to requirements and advising management on needed actions.
- Supports team member development by scheduling, delivering and tracking training.
- Stays current in HR best practices by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations.
- Enhances department and organization reputation by initiating and supporting activities that drive engagement through the Facility.
- Conducts interviews, hiring, and onboarding.
- Coordinates new hire onboarding.
- Handles employee inquiries regarding policies and procedures, payroll, benefits, and time off requests.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree required, ideally in HR, Business Management, Business, Psychology, Management, or similar
- SHRM or other HR-related certification
- Union experience in the manufacturing sector IS REQUIRED
- 5-10+ years of Human Resource generalist / managerial experience is required
- Previous experience supervising HR staff members is strongly recommended
- Knowledge of local and labor laws needed
- Experience with working with recruiters, interviewing and screening resumes for hourly and/or salaried employees
- Experience in delivering training and maintaining a proactive, hands-on approach to the role
- Strong planning, organization and time management skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of benefits administration is a plus
- Experience working in a team environment
- Demonstrated proficiency with HRIS and Microsoft Office products. SAP and HRIS implementation are a plus
- Strong knowledge of labor relations and labor and employment laws required
- Must be available to relocate in a timely fashion of one month or less to the York, Pennsylvania area if not already within a commutable distance
- Must be permanently eligible to work in the United States with no sponsorship of any type required for now or any point in the future
