Job summary

Cape Consulting (HR) Ltd is seeking an ambitious HR Consultant to join a close-knit team. The role offers hybrid working across Essex and Hertfordshire with both full-time or part-time options, focusing on practical HR advice for SMEs and charities.

You will support a portfolio of diverse clients, build trusted relationships, and contribute to strategic HR projects while developing your own expertise under guidance from senior consultants.

Qualifications

• CIPD Level 5 or working towards it.
• HR Advisory/Consultant experience providing HR advice on a broad range of people matters.
• Experience leading employee relations processes (ER) including redundancies, disciplinary, grievances and performance management.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Commercially minded with a practical approach to problem-solving.
• Organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities.
• Genuinely passionate about helping people and businesses succeed.

Responsibilities

• Providing practical HR advice across the employee lifecycle.
• Supporting employee relations matters including disciplinaries, grievances, capability and absence.
• Drafting contracts, policies, letters and HR documentation.
• Undertaking HR audits and recommending improvements.
• Supporting organisational change, engagement and culture projects.
• Building long-term relationships with clients.
• Keeping up to date with employment legislation and HR best practice.
• Working alongside senior consultants to deliver exceptional client service.

The Opportunity

About you

• CIPD Level 5 qualified (or working towards it).
• Previous HR Advisory/Consultant experience, providing HR advice on a broad range of people matters.
• Previous experience leading ER processes, including redundancies, disciplinary, grievances and performance management

• Commercially minded with a practical approach to problem-solving.
• Organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities.
