We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Bath and North East Somerset to assist with the appointment of a Human Resources Consultant, on a 2.5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at client's discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £17.03- £22.28 per hour

Hours Per Week: 22.20

Summary:

The Human Resources Consultant (Business Partner I) supports senior Business Partners by collaborating closely with service areas/departments and/or external clients. The role's purpose is to establish a trusted partnership with stakeholders by offering consultation that contributes value to decision-making and helps Bath & North East Somerset Council meet its vision and objectives. This role provides best practice solutions and supports operational managers, while developing and maintaining positive, outcome-focused relationships.

Responsibilities:
  • Acting as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders within the Council for their area of expertise (HR), escalating complex enquiries and casework to senior colleagues for timely resolution.
  • Supporting the implementation of operational or improvement plans and defined projects within the HR technical specialism, aligned to annual Council business plans.
  • Providing on-the-job training and guidance to Council staff and/or external stakeholders on matters like HR and Health, Safety and Wellbeing policies, to ensure they can manage their people resources effectively and fairly.
  • Supporting allocated investigations, which includes developing investigation strategies and conducting interviews while maintaining confidentiality, to ensure client policies and procedures are followed.
Essentials:
  • A Diploma or a relevant professional HR, Health, Safety and Wellbeing, or Finance qualification is required.
  • Practical experience of working in Human Resources, Health, Safety and Wellbeing, or Finance within the area of specialism.
  • The role involves planning and prioritising work in the short-term horizon as part of a team, with due regard for the broader team requirements.
Additional Requirements:
  • You should be available to work immediately or at short notice.
  • You should have the right to work in the U.K.
