A community-focused leisure provider in Bury St Edmunds seeks a proactive HR Business Partner for 21 hours per week. The role involves supporting compliance with employment legislation and mentoring the HR team. Ideal candidates will have strong expertise in employment law, excellent communication skills, and a Level 5 CIPD qualification. HR Business Partner – 21 hours per week
£38,000 - £40,000 per annum (pro-rata)
Hybrid working arrangements (Bury Leisure Centre & homeworking)
This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join our busy, friendly HR team at Abbeycroft, where we meet the HR needs of around 475 staff across 12 sites. We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive HR specialist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with strong expertise in employment law and a desire to support and develop others.
Rota: Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Hours of work are flexible and can be agreed upon discussion.

Key Responsibilities:
• Support casework, ensuring compliance with current and emerging employment legislation
• Mentor and support the HR team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth
• Contribute to strategic HR projects aligned with our organisational goals and values
• Collaborate with our managers to embed fair, inclusive and legally sound HR practices
• Support the HR Manager and CEO with developing, integrating and achieving the aims of our HR Service Delivery Plan.
Requirements:
• Have a strong background in employee relations and employment law
• Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment legislation
• A working knowledge of emerging legislation around the Employment Rights Bill
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• A strategic mindset with the ability to influence and drive change
• The ability to occasionally travel to other Abbeycroft sites, depending on service needs.
Qualifications:
• Essential - Level 5 CIPD qualification but it would be highly desirable to have the Level 7 qualification (or working towards this)
