Job description

We are looking for two Human Resources (HR) Assistants who are enthusiastic, flexible and motivated team members to provide efficient and effective HR support.

This role is based within the Employee Support team, which is a busy, deadline driven and friendly team dealing with all aspects of employment records. This role involves processing new start paperwork and amendment to terms and conditions, for existing employees, onto the Council’s HR/Payroll system. The team are also responsible for issuing contractual documents.

Employee Support also provide advice on Council policies and procedures to managers and employees across the Council via an online booking system, email or phone. This includes advice relating to contractual arrangements, general employee relations advice, sickness absence and terms and conditions of employment across all employee groups.

Skills & Experience Required

Some knowledge of employment terms and conditions is required.

Accuracy, attention to detail and a head for numbers are essential for this post, as is the ability to deal with confidential information and to work with minimum supervision.

Quick to learn, you will be able to cope with deadline related workload pressures in a positive manner. In addition, you should be willing and able to contribute flexibly to the work of the whole team, as required. You will also be able to deal with enquiries in a confident and helpful way.

You must be computer literate with proven IT Skills in Microsoft Office applications and have experience of using computer databases or other relevant software. Experience of using ResourceLink would be desirable.

Ideally, you will have a certificate in HR, alternatively you should be qualified to at least SCQF Level 6 or equivalent in a relevant subject.
