This is a remote role with occasional travel, and while we welcome candidates from across the Eastern time zone, preference will be given to those located in or near the Toledo, OH area.

Position Summary:
The Human Resources Assistant will be the first point of contact for Marco’s Human Resources team. This position provides administrative support to the Human Resources department on all personnel matters and assists employees with daily requests. This position is a highly detailed position that includes responsibilities of specialized administrative tasks including managing and overseeing records, generating reports and other day-to-day tasks within the department.
- Handle employment-related inquiries (standard policies, basic benefits questions, hiring processes, etc.) from employees and managers, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Maintain, update and troubleshoot the HRIS system ensuring data integrity and functionality along with accurate, up to date and timely processing of necessary changes to HR files, employee records and documentation.
- Train managers and employees on HRIS processes, self-service features, and reporting tools. Provide employees with HRIS navigation assistance when needed.
- Maintain employee records and ensure confidential information is handled appropriately and is kept secure
- Assist with investigations and resolve conflicts, fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Support the HR team in educating employees on and enforcing Company policies
- Provide support with audits and mandatory reports (I-9 audits, EEO-1 filings, payroll audits, etc.)
- Perform periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Create, maintain and revise necessary forms and notifications for Marco's Corporate Office and Company Managed Stores.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required:
- 2-4 years of experience in Human Resources or related HR administrative experience
Preferred:- Previous Paycor or UKG experience
- Basic knowledge of database structures
Physical Requirement(s):- Sitting for extended periods of time
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
- Able to work independently with good problem solving and time management skills
- Meticulous and well-organized, detail-oriented and able to multitask
- Able to exercise good judgment by recognizing urgency and setting priorities
- Professional attitude, demeanor, and appearance, as well as being personal, approachable, and positive
- Previous experience with Paycor and UKG preferred
