Job Overview

Post: Human Resources Adviser (x2 posts)

Location: Minerva Learning Trust Central Office with travel between schools

Pay scale: NJC Grade 7, point 27: £37,035 to 31: £40,476 gross per annum (pay award pending)

Contract: Temporary (maternity cover), full-time, 37 hours per week, 52 working weeks

Start date: September 2025

Minerva Learning Trust is a growing multi-academy trust committed to providing an outstanding education for students from a wide variety of backgrounds across Sheffield and Derbyshire. Founded in 2014, Minerva Learning Trust has expanded to a thriving family of schools, including primary, secondary, sixth form, and a unique post-16 provision and employs just over 1000 staff. We have a strong track record of school improvement, successfully transforming schools from Ofsted ratings of RI and Inadequate to GOOD.

We are looking to recruit two temporary Human Resources Adviser’s to cover a maternity leave within our Central HR Team. The roles are based in our Central Office at Sheffield Business Park in Tinsley however with regular working across our schools to support delivery of our People Strategy.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their career within Human Resources and join our team to contribute to the delivery of our People Strategy. You will be joining a supportive team of colleagues and be able to contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the service.

The successful candidate will have proven experience of working in Human Resources, preferably in education or the public sector, however it is more important that you can work confidently with a range of stakeholders across the organisation to provide quality HR generalist and advisory support. You will work closely with the Chief People Officer and members of the HR Team to develop and deliver HR services to our schools.

We Are Looking For Someone Who

  • Can provide a comprehensive and professional HR service including leading on casework, restructures, employee relations and support to leaders in people management.
  • Can research, develop and update Trust HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with employment law, national and local terms and conditions and contribute to the delivery of our People Strategy.
  • Can support the development and implementation of the Trust HR/Payroll system including automation of HR processes to improve efficiency.
  • Can support the design and delivery of briefings and training for a range of audiences in respect of HR issues and provide coaching to leaders/managers to develop their people management skills.
  • Can analyse our HR metrics and data to inform decision making, support the production of reports for Trust Board, Executive Team and other audiences across the Trust, identify risks and support action to address them.
  • Can contribute to the development of the HR team through coaching, training, and supervision to build capacity, career opportunities and confidence.
