Job description

Job Purpose: The incumbent will be a trusted advisor and a change advocate for the business. S/he will drive the design and execution of people agenda which aligns to the overall business strategy and growth agenda of Cigna Singapore and Australia. This includes but is not limited to talent acquisition, talent development, staff engagement, organizational design, succession planning, compensation and benefits, performance management, employee relations, and HR operational excellence.

Reports to: Head of Human Resources, Singapore and Australia

Critical Tasks and Expected Contributions/Results:

  1. Understand business priorities thoroughly and involve in the design and development of the business-enabling people agenda.
  2. Provide both strategic and operational HR advice and services to business in driving company-wide transformational people initiatives and change programs.
  3. Deliver HR strategies and priorities such as future-state workforce planning, talent acquisition, talent development, and employee engagement.
  4. Define and execute the company’s Employee Value Proposition with the purpose of enhancing employees’ journey and experience.
  5. Derive initiatives which would promote the desirable Company’s culture.
  6. Manage talent review, development and succession planning in consultation with the business.
  7. Review compensation and benefits for employees to ensure company’s competitiveness and equity among employees.
  8. Partner with business and Finance in budget planning and forecast.
  9. Keep abreast of each country’s labour laws and ensure full compliance.
  10. Manage HR Compliance, governance and control matters for Cigna Singapore and Australia.
  11. Formulate and implement HR policies and projects as required.
  12. Prepare HR-related metrics and management reporting.
  13. Cover HR Operations when the colleague is on leave. Familiarity with payroll, tax, reporting will be an added advantage.
  14. Proactively seek ways to improve processes and team and organizational effectiveness.
  15. Vendor management (shared responsibility with HR Operations colleague).
  16. Any ad-hoc duties as required.

  1. Manages the different needs of Business Functions, conflicting and tight timelines.
  2. Multi-tasking and ensuring speed and accuracy.

Developmental Value of Position:

  1. Be the go-to person who provides guidance to the employee population on HR related matters.
  2. Manages end to end HR BAU independently.

Experience/Knowledge, Education and Other Requirements:

  1. Degree holder with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in HR, preferably in the financial industry.
  2. Experience in a COE function will be advantageous.
  3. Demonstrated high proficiency in a broad array of HR functional competencies.
  4. Strong partnership mindset and genuine interest in championing people initiatives.
  5. Ability to manage competing priorities and be flexible in roles and responsibilities in a fast-paced and matrix environment.
  6. Experience in deriving HR policies in accordance with regulatory development in Financial Institutions will be an advantage.
  7. Resourceful and proactive.
  8. Strong communication skills.
  9. Possess a can-do attitude.
  10. High Emotional Quotient; conflict resolution skills.
