Job summary

Navantia UK seeks an experienced leader to head the Structures area, aligning with strategic objectives and policies. You will develop and strengthen the Structures team, ensuring programs meet requirements and compliance with quality standards and procedures.

You will collaborate with procurement, engineering, and operations to optimise processes, manage production, and supervise subcontracted work. Strong leadership and naval standards knowledge are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Ability to guide, mentor and develop a team as a leader.
• Excellent communication skills across multidisciplinary teams and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong planning and organisational skills to update project plans and recover variance.
• Familiarity with naval/m maritime codes and Defence standards.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and MS Office applications.
• Ability to understand Earned Value Management (EVM) for SPI/CPI insights.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Structures area based on strategies and policies aligned with H&W’s strategies.
• Develop knowledge and capabilities within Structures to meet program requirements.
• Coordinate annual HSE plans and ensure compliance.
• Support Operations Director in managing productive resources and budget tracking.
• Supervise structures production, hiring decisions, and subcontracted work.
• Define and execute the Structures Policy/Plan for each project.
• Provide technical support to programmes in Structures matters.
• Promote continuous improvement and training within the area.
• Collaborate with Procurement and Engineering in contracting and specifications.
