Job description

This is a Permanent , Full Time vacancy that will close in 24 days at 23:59 BST .

The Vacancy

Based at the High Temperature Research Centre, Ansty, the post holder will support the manufacturing process from initial request through to delivery of components, including but not limited to:

  • Maintaining a safe working environment for one’s self and others in line with HTRC Health & Safety processes and procedures
  • Execute efficient and effective inspection processes to ensure conforming and on-time delivery to our customers
  • Following work processes whilst ensuring route cards and work instructions are followed without deviation
  • Responsibility for the care of Metrology Lab equipment, including some preventative maintenance and asset care
  • Supporting the manufacturing engineers in creating cost estimates, lead times and route cards
  • Contributing to continuous improvement and problem-solving activities
  • Supporting various activities required for the running of the Metrology department

Person Specification

Essential Skills/Qualifications/Experience

  • Experience in metrology/inspection techniques.
  • BTEC/Level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent industry experience
  • Self-motivated with ability to meet deadlines.
  • Pragmatic hands on approach to problem solving with a can-do attitude.
  • Attention to detail with an ability to deliver work to required standards
  • Highly Dexterous
  • Self-motivated with ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Actively promotes and works towards maintaining a clean and tidy work environment.

Desirable Skills/Qualifications/Experience

  • Experience in any of the following data analysis software:
    • PolyWorks
    • Volume Graphics
    • GOM Inspect
  • Experience in any of the following inspection acquisition techniques:
    • CMM (MCOSMOS)
    • XCT
    • 3D Optical scanning
    • Ultrasonic
  • Full UK driving license
