Job summary

Aureos Energy division is seeking a HSQE Advisor to join our distribution team across multiple sites in the South West and beyond. The role is permanent and office/site-based, with locations including Exeter, Bristol, Plymouth, Swansea, Swindon, Portsmouth, Southampton, Poole, Bournemouth, Salisbury, Yeovil and more.

You will stop unsafe works, review CDM documentation with the operational team, and support the development of a strong HSQE culture while ensuring Aureos standards and client

Qualifications

  • NEBOSH qualification is essential.
  • Mental Health First Aider and driving licence required.
  • Kelvin Top Set 1–3 day course and behavioural safety training (TCUP) are advantageous.

Aureos' Energy division are seeking a HSQE Advisor to join our distribution team based in the following locations: Exeter, Bristol, Plymouth, Swansea, Swindon, Portsmouth, Southampton, Poole, Bournemouth, Salisbury, Yeovil, Dorset, Wimborne, and Southampton This is a permanent office/site-based role.

Responsibilities
  • Where unsafe working is identified, stop the works, agree and document suitable and safe solution and re-brief.
  • Assisting the operational team with reviewing of CDM documentation
  • Assurance of process and working methods
  • Take an active role in developing, maintaining and promoting a positive HSQE culture
  • Ensuring compliance with Aureos standards and client requirements
  • Undertaking task analysis of risk assessment and method statements / Task briefings
  • Provide support and advice for staff to aid and promote sustainable practices
  • Ensure all requirements and findings are closed within the required timescales
  • Promote the closure of NCR's and OFI's within the project
Secondary Tasks and Duties
  • Encourage quality contributions and ensure timely close out and feedback is actioned, promote lessons learnt and good practice sharing.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with site teams, clients and other stakeholders
  • Promotion of health and wellbeing support, and directing staff where required
  • Prepare and deliver workforce (including subcontractors) engagement (toolbox talks, awareness sessions)
  • Lead on Level 1 investigations
  • Proactively improve in reducing risk through the planning process
Skills, experience and qualifications
  • Essential: NEBOSH Mental Health First Aider Driving Licence Kelvin Top Set 1 day - 3 days Report writing course Behavioural Safety Training incl TCUP
  • Desirable: CSCS EUSR PTS
  • Knowledge: Understanding of working methods Industrial knowledge across the infrastructure Services areas of Business Basics of management systems Site inspections and risk assessment experience Site experience Reviewing CDM and industry Sustainability and carbon capture

Abilities: Excellent listening behaviours Positive attitude Ability to work weekends when required. Ability to work overtime when required. Ability to use IT systems including Microsoft 365, and HSQE specific systems. Excellent time management and relationship skills, comfortably working effectively within a broad range of working environments. Strong interpersonal skills able to communicate clearly to inform and influence others; uses appropriate, effective methods to deliver messages. Embraces and drives continuous improvement, challenging the status quo for the benefit of the business, supporting learning and development. Hands on approach to problem solving Excellent standard of written and numerical literacy
