Position: HSEQ Manager

Location: London - HS2 Specific Position

Term: 12 Month Fixed Term Position

Salary: to £55,000 per annum

Sector: Construction

The Role:

Integrate Engineering Resources are currently recruiting for an HSEQ Manager on behalf of our client, a market leader in the construction sector. The role will be based permanently on site in London and will include the following responsibilities:

  • Supporting the delivery of the company HSE strategy and overseeing, monitoring and evaluating health and safety standards on site.
  • Completing risk assessments and method statements.
  • Maintaining health and safety standards and documentation whilst on site.
  • Conducting regular site walks to ensure all HSE practices are being adhered to.
  • Working closely with the site management team and reporting to the HSE Manager.
  • Conducting investigations of all accidents and incidents with reports on findings.

Roles & Responsibilities:

The Project HSEQ Manager will have the following roles and responsibilities:

  • Advising and assisting all appropriate managers in fulfilling their health and safety responsibilities to employees and others, as defined by statutory regulations and company and client requirements.
  • Ensuring all personnel are aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities, and providing HSEQ advice as needed. Supporting the Project Manager with the implementation of client-approved HSEQ standards, specifications, and procedures. Reviewing, completing, and obtaining necessary approvals for documentation to maintain the HSEQ management system and ensuring project HSEQ documentation is current.
  • Offering advice and guidance on preparing safety, quality, and environmental documentation, such as risk assessments, method statements, and procedures. Conducting recorded site inspections and witnessing monitoring verification activities. Performing quality inspections (ITP) and maintaining records to ensure compliance with statutory legislation and contract requirements.
  • Advising on training needs and coordinating site-level training. Detecting non-conformities, including analysis and action plans, and defining and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Investigating non-conformities, producing corrective action reports, and reporting to the Project Manager. Ensuring timely and effective closure of assigned corrective actions. Investigating accidents/incidents, analysing data, and making recommendations to prevent recurrences.
  • Reporting all accidents and incidents to the HSEQ Coordinator. Managing and communicating HSEQ performance, reporting to the Project Manager and HSEQ Coordinator.
  • Proactively working with the project team to uphold HSEQ standards. Attending management and health and safety meetings. Cooperating with the project team to ensure HSEQ objectives are met.

Required:

  • NEBOSH National Certificate (minimum) or equivalent NVQ in Occupational H&S Required.
  • Knowledge of the ISO 45001:2018 Required.
  • Knowledge of the ISO 9001:2015 & ISO 14001:2015 Desired.
  • Experience in Steel Erection would be an advantage.
  • Experience of accident investigation - Required.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills - Required.
  • Competent IT skills including Word, Excel, Power Point and Web applications - Required.
  • Team player and able to build and maintain relationships both internal and external.
