Job description

Princeton NuEnergy ("PNE") is a lithium-ion battery direct recycling and critical materials recovery innovator, founded out of Princeton University. PNE's patented recycling technology is based on a low-temperature plasma-assisted separation process (LPAS) that reclaims and repairs cathode material from spent lithium-ion batteries and manufacturing scrap at half the cost, with significantly lower waste compared to traditional recycling methods.

The HSEQ Manager (Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality) will play a key role within Princeton NuEnergy's rapidly growing manufacturing team at our Chester, South Carolina facility. The QEHS Manager will develop, implement, coordinate, and maintain all Quality, Environmental, Health, and Safety policies, programs, procedures, training, work practices, and safety controls to ensure compliance, effectiveness, and alignment with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee EHS compliance during the new facility's commissioning
  • Develop and implement quality and safety programs to meet regulatory requirements and organizational standards
  • Lead certification processes for ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and/or RC14001 standards
  • Maintain practices, procedures, training, and controls for compliance and continuous improvement
  • Manage internal audits to ensure policy and regulation adherence
  • Analyze and report on quality and safety trends
  • Manage all quality systems and safety documentation
  • Implement incident reporting and health case reporting systems
  • Maintain material safety data sheets and environmental permit programs
  • Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies on environmental and safety matters
  • Provide training on emergency procedures and workplace safety
  • Establish and maintain Emergency Response Plans
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quality Engineering, Safety, Chemistry, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in chemical or material manufacturing
  • Background in Quality Engineering/Management, Lean Six Sigma certification preferred
  • Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 45001, RC14001 systems
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations including OSHA, RCRA, NFPA, and ANSI standards
  • OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification preferred
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in MS Office
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and operate with urgency
