Job summary

Trelleborg Industrial Solutions, Retford, is seeking an experienced HSEQ Manager to lead and improve Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental management systems. You will guide the HSEQ Team, ensure regulatory compliance and empower staff with competence and training.

Key duties include developing quality procedures, driving customer requirement adherence, coordinating internal audits, and leading continuous improvement initiatives across operations. Travel to multiple sites is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a Quality, HSE or HSEQ leadership role.
• Degree, or equivalent level in a Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality or Health & Safety discipline.
• Proven experience developing and maintaining ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
• Experience leading internal and external audits.
• Demonstrable experience in people leadership and team development.
• Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent desirable.
• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent H&S qualification desirable.
• Willingness to travel frequently locally and globally.

• Provide strategic leadership to the HSEQ Team and competency training for staff.
• Manage QC/Materials Testing/Product Testing and lab operations.

About The Job

As the HSEQ Manager you will be responsible for leading, developing and continuously improving the Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental management systems across the business. Your role ensures compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory and certification requirements while driving a strong quality and safety culture.

You will provide strategic and operational leadership to the HSEQ Team, ensuring products meet customer and regulatory requirements, risks are effectively managed, and employees are empowered to make sound quality and safety decisions through appropriate competence and training.

Tasks And Responsibilities

• Devise and establish quality procedures, standards and specifications
• Reviewing customer requirements, ensuring they are met or exceeded
• Working with Supply Chain to establish quality requirements for external suppliers
• Ensure that manufacturing processes meet international and national standards
• Defining quality procedures in conjunction with operating staff
• Setting up and maintaining controls and documentation procedures
• Monitoring performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports
• Ensuring present standards and established quality and reliability expectancy of finished products
• Defines goals and objectives based on Operations strategy and formulates, maintains and coordinates quality objective to maximize product reliability and minimize costs
• Overall management of QC/Materials Testing/Product Testing department supervisors so as to optimize their contribution to the manufacturing unit with particular emphasis on efficient individual and team working through adequate communication and training
• Management of the quality testing laboratory and staff
• Communicate effectively with relevant internal departments e.g. Manufacturing, Maintenance & Facilities, Process Engineering, etc. in order to ensure that production is not unduly delayed
• Direct investigation of process variation, NCR and repeated violations to support root cause analysis and corrective actions using defined Practical Problem Solving methodologies
• Providing direction as well as training to employees to accomplish company goals and objectives
• Conducting employee performance reviews and managing employee performance
• Leading change and integrating best practice
• Fulfilling all Global Operations duties identified in The Map and driving continuous improvement
• Develop, implement and maintain the Health, Safety and Environmental management systems in line with ISO 9001
• Ensure compliance with all applicable HSE legislation, regulations and company standard
• Lead risk assessment, hazard identification and safe systems of work
• Oversee accident, incident and near miss reporting, investigations and corrective actions
• Act as the primary point of contact for HSE regulators, auditors and external bodies
• Lead environmental management initiatives including waste, energy, emissions and sustainability improvements
• Promote a positive health, safety and quality culture across all levels of the organization
• Ensure appropriate HSEQ training is delivered and maintained
• Carrying out any other reasonable duties that may be requested from time to time

Education & Experience

• Minimum 5 years experience in a Quality, HSE or HSEQ leadership role, preferably in the Manufacturing or Engineering industry
• Degree, or equivalent level in a Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality or Health & Safety or related discipline
• Proven experience of developing and maintaining ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
• Experience leading internal and external audits
• Demonstrable experience in people leadership and team development
• Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent continuous improvement qualification desirable
• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent H&S qualification desirable
• Comfort with frequent travel to multiple local sites and global travel
• Comfortable with Out-of-hours working as some facilities operate 24/7
