Job description

Department: SSE

Location: Chippenham

Compensation: £35,000 - £45,000 / year

Description:

As a HSEQ Compliance Auditor, you will be part of a central HSEQ Team with responsibility for one of our contracts reporting to the contract's HSEQ Lead. You will be responsible for promoting compliance throughout the business and for escalating all issues identified. You will also be responsible for ensuring employees are made aware of issues raised and for promoting document control and system compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Review risk assessments, conduct site audits to ensure safety policies and procedures are being followed across the contract's sites.
  2. Coach and provide support and guidance to staff on HSEQ policy, procedures and safe systems of work.
  3. Generate detailed reports summarising audit findings, compliance levels, and identified risks or areas of concern, as well as recommendations.
  4. Liaise with external auditors, clients, and regulatory bodies, addressing any non-conformities.
  5. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, focusing health and safety performance and best practise.
  6. Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and employees to ensure a proactive approach to HSEQ across all levels.
  7. Provide support and advice to the leadership team on HSEQ matters, ensuring continuous alignment with business objectives and legal compliance.
  8. Provide weekly HSEQ compliance reporting to the contract, identifying trends, Key performance indicators, Incident rates, non-compliance issues and actions.
  9. Monitor compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations, including CDM Regulations, Permit to Work systems, and other industry-specific requirements.
  10. Monitor non-conformances and escalate areas of potential impact.
  11. Support in the provision of comprehensive contract and management reports.

Experience and Qualifications:

  1. Experience in a similar HSEQ Auditor Role.
  2. HSEQ Qualification e.g. NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent).
  3. Full UK Driving Licence.
