Job summary

Network Plus is seeking an HSEQ Advisor to join our busy team in Bury St Edmunds. You will provide specialist advice across safety and environmental matters to enable managers, employees, and partner contractors to comply with all policies and practices for a safe workplace.

The role is regional with travel requirements. You will support front line site managers, ensure CDM compliance, monitor performance, and stay up to date with legislation, while promoting collaboration and lessons learned

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General is required; NEBOSH Construction is desirable.
• CDM knowledge or experience.
• Experience interpreting and applying health and safety legislation.
• Experience conducting or supporting incident investigations.
• Great attention to detail and ability to work with stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert, timely, cost-effective safety and environmental guidance to managers and staff.
• Influence site managers to ensure CDM compliance and best practice.
• Monitor compliance with procedures and review safety performance.
• Keep up to date with evolving safety and environmental legislation.
• Support the HSEQ team and promote a culture of learning and collaboration.

Job description

We are looking for a HSEQ Advisor to join our busy team in Bury St Edmunds. You will be providing specialist advice in all areas of safety, enabling managers, employees, and partner contractors to comply with all aspects of Anglian Water’s Construction Health, Safety and Environmental Policies, Procedures and Practices to create an efficient and safe place to work.

As this role will be regional, there will be a requirement to travel.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide appropriate expert, timely (reactive and proactive), cost-effective and practicable advice and guidance to managers and employees on safety and environmental matters to comply with legal and moral health and safety and environmental standards.
• Support and influence front line site managers and staff to make sure that they understand and adhere to CDM and consistent with current legislation and industry best practice.
• Monitor compliance with Anglian Water & Alliance procedures in the workplace and review safety and environmental performance.
• Keep up to date with relevant legislation and current developments/trends in the field.
• Provide support and visibility for the HSEQ team, ensuring lessons are learned and successes are celebrated by working in a collaborative environment.

Experience and Qualifications

• NEBOSH General (as a minimum), NEBOSH Construction Desirable.
• Proven CDM experience/knowledge.
• Experience interpreting and applying Health & Safety legislation in an operational business.
• Proven experience of conducting or supporting incident/near miss investigations.
• Great attention to detail.
• Working with stakeholders at all levels.
