Job summary

Principal People Recruitment is seeking an HSE Manager to join a leading renewables contractor delivering major UK & Ireland projects. This is a project-startup role, moving from planning through mobilisation and site establishment before handing over to the long‑term HSE team.

You will work on early planning, contractor setup, mobilisation, and on-site delivery during the initial phase, with a 4‑week rotation across the UK & Ireland, including accommodation and travel support.

Qualifications

• Recognised Health & Safety qualification.
• Practical HSE experience within a construction or project environment.
• Experience managing relationships with clients and subcontractors.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Flexible to travel extensively across the UK and Ireland.
• Full UK driving licence and comfortable working at height.

Responsibilities

• Own HSE requirements from award through to site establishment.
• Develop project-specific HSE, environmental and traffic management plans.
• Review RAMS and other project documentation.
• Build relationships with clients, principal contractors and subcontractors.
• Work with subcontractors to improve standards and consistency across projects.
• Support the physical set-up of sites including welfare and compounds.
• Support mobilisation for 6-8 weeks before handing over to next project.
• Identify opportunities to improve existing HSE processes and ways of working.
