Job summary

Ideal candidates will have relevant qualifications and experience in data centre construction.

Qualifications

  • Experience in data centre construction projects is required.
  • Must have UK Passport or Right to Work (RTW).
  • Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and compliance.

HSE Officer – Canary Wharf – Data Centre

We are currently partnering with a multinational Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation services provider with offices across Europe. With continued success on Data Centre projects, they are now seeking an experienced HSE Officer to join their team in Canary Wharf.

Responsibilities
  1. Site Compliance Monitoring: Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with company policies, client standards, and legal HSE regulations specific to mission-critical construction.
  2. Permit to Work & High-Risk Activities Oversight: Manage and review permits for high-risk operations (e.g., electrical works, hot works, confined spaces), ensuring safe systems of work are in place and followed.
  3. Incident Investigation & Reporting: Lead investigations into near misses, unsafe acts, and incidents, producing detailed reports and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  4. Training & Safety Briefings: Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and task-specific HSE training to operatives, subcontractors, and visitors, promoting proactive safety behaviours.
  5. Environmental Management & Sustainability: Support the implementation of environmental controls, including waste management, pollution prevention, and energy use tracking, aligning with project sustainability goals.
Requirements
  • Experience in data centre construction projects is required.
  • Relevant third-level degree qualification or equivalent in Environmental, Health & Safety.
  • Must have UK Passport or RTW (Right to Work).

Benefits: £55,000 - £60,000 + Package
