Job summary

Nelson Permanent Placements is recruiting a Health & Safety Environmental Manager for a client in the construction sector. The role involves hands-on site leadership, implementing and monitoring health, safety and environmental standards across UK projects.

You will regularly visit sites, lead RAMS reviews, drive CDM compliance, and coordinate with clients and principal designers. NECESSARY NEBOSH and ISO familiarity underpin a proactive, safety-first culture.

Qualifications

NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (essential).
HSE experience and knowledge of CDM 2015 and UK legislation (essential).
Familiarity with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 (essential).
Strong communication skills and a valid UK driving licence (essential).
Desirable: NEBOSH Level 6 diploma; CMIOSH or working towards; environmental qualification; principal contractor experience.

Responsibilities

Lead implementation, monitoring and continual improvement of health, safety and environmental standards across all projects.
Attend sites regularly to engage with site teams and subcontractors; report to MD.
Develop RAMS, inspect site compliance, and manage corrective actions.
Support CDM compliance and liaise with clients and duty holders.
Investigate incidents, promote waste reduction and environmental controls.
Maintain ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 element of the management system; perform internal audits.
