Job summary

Bachy Soletanche Limited is seeking an experienced HSE Leader to drive health and safety across the MBIF project on the Suffolk coast. You will mentor a team, develop safety culture, and lead investigations to identify root causes for continuous improvement.

Role requires extensive construction/Civil Engineering safety experience, IOSH membership, and NEBOSH certificates. This is a fixed-term assignment on a major marine infrastructure site with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Membership of IOSH – Chartered/ Member of International Institute of Risk & Safety Management
• Level 5 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Practice or equivalent
• NEBOSH Construction Certificate – or equivalent
• NEBOSH Fire certificate – or equivalent
• NEBOSH Environmental Certificate or equivalent
• Managers and Professionals CSCS card
• Full UK driving licence
• Experience of managing Health and Safety at a management level
• Significant Construction/Civil Engineering/Geotechnical Engineering experience
• A desire to continuously pursue innovation and development in connection with Health & Safety
• Good interpersonal and communication skills are required, coupled with an ability to form effective relationships with colleagues under pressure
• Comfortable in demanding client situations
• A personal commitment to improving Safety, Health and Wellbeing standards in the workplace
• Ability to develop strong relationships and communicate across all levels
• Willingness to travel and stay away from home when required Experience in the production of safety reports, briefing documents, and procedures
• Ability to apply relevant legislation in a practical manner
• Experience with behavioural safety techniques
• Experience of incident investigation and root cause analysis

Responsibilities

• Lead in development of a positive H&S culture
• Develop and improve a competent H&S team
• Manage and report statistical H&S performance to Senior Leadership Team
• Analyse data and advise on strategic, managerial improvements
• Foster a learning organisation mindset and share best practices
• Lead investigations to identify root causes and drive continuous improvement
• Liaise with UK regulator for H&S
• Share practices with SB worldwide and UK Group, FPS & EFFC
• Build strong relations with operational teams to provide support
• Mentor staff on H&S matters and advise on training needs
• Ensure project teams receive suitable H&S guidance
• Liaise with clients and supply chain on H&S matters
• Support HR and Health and Safety Director in OH programme implementation
• Advise and support other teams on H&S
• Assist with prequalification submissions
