Job summary

Knauf Insulation UK is seeking a Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to drive cultural change and ensure safety and environmental compliance across the site. You will support the Plant Manager and Leadership team to meet legal requirements and corporate objectives through audits, inspections, tests, and assessments.

You will coordinate integrated management system implementation, lead risk assessments, training, and ensure continuous improvement in safety performance within a manufacturing

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum) or NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent level 6 qualification).
• Evidence of relevant continuing professional development.
• Experience working in a health and safety related function at Management Level.
• Experience of managing, motivating, influencing and empowering staff and others.
• Working knowledge of health & safety Legislation and Guidance and its application in an industrial setting.
• Experience in a continuous process plant.
• Trained and experienced auditor of management systems
• Effective communication, motivation, influencing and empowering skills

Responsibilities

• Carry out regular periodic audits of operational practice and Knauf procedures, ensuring standards and personal accountability are reinforced.
• Lead HSE inspections, sampling, monitoring to assess compliance and establish trend data.
• Lead or assist with risk assessments, accident and incident investigations and implement remedial plans.
• Organise statutory and safety training with the Management team to ensure attendance.
• Deliver in-house health and safety training on statutory requirements and best practice.
• Represent at relevant meetings and provide input to guide plans and actions.
• Act as the Responsible person for Water Cooling Towers and ensure compliance with the Approved Code of Practice.
