Job summary

Ciwmjobs is recruiting a Health, Safety and Environmental Manager for a West Midlands multi-site food manufacturing operation. The role leads a senior HSE agenda, ensuring compliance with UK safety and environmental regulations across the site and driving a proactive safety culture.

You will manage risk assessments, incident investigations, and cross-functional safety initiatives with Technical and Hygiene teams to protect staff and product integrity.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General Certificate is the minimum requirement.
• Experience in food manufacturing/FMCG environments.
• Strong knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental regulations including OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001.
• Exceptional leadership and stakeholder influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as Competent Person for site under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations.
• Lead safety improvement plans with stakeholders.
• Develop and audit site-wide risk assessments and Safe Systems of Work to ALARP.
• Own incident investigation processes and share learnings across the group.
• Align HSE protocols with food safety and hygiene controls; manage contractors and chemical usage.
• Represent the site in audits by regulators and major customers; ensure corrective actions are closed out.
