CRUK Scotland Institute in Scotland seeks a Health and Safety Manager with a strong biological, laboratory or research safety background to lead safety across the Institute. You will act as Biological Safety Officer, advising on genetic modification work and containment controls.

You will drive continuous improvement of health and safety culture, ensure staff competence, and deliver training. A degree in a biological discipline or equivalent experience is required, with NEBOSH qualification and

Qualifications

• NEBOSH qualification or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of biological safety and genetic modification containment.
• COSHH risk assessment experience.
• Experience in incident investigations and fire safety in labs.

Responsibilities

• Lead health and safety management across the Institute.
• Act as Biological Safety Officer and provide expert advice on biological safety and containment.
• Advise on genetic modification work and containment controls.
• Drive continuous improvement of health and safety culture and training.
• Ensure competence across staff and regulatory compliance.
