Salary: GBP55,000–GBP65,000, DOE
As our HSE Manager, you ll play a pivotal role in maintaining and improving our HSE culture across all construction projects. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you ll develop, implement, and monitor systems that ensure compliance with current legislation and industry best practices.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage all HSE activities across construction sites in Durham and surrounding areas.
Develop and enforce health and safety policies, risk assessments, and method statements.
Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
Provide guidance and training to project teams and subcontractors on all HSE matters.
Monitor environmental impact and drive sustainability initiatives.
Maintain documentation in line with ISO standards and support external audits.
Stay up to date with UK health, safety, and environmental legislation.
Drive a proactive, safety–first culture at every level of the business.
NEBOSH National Diploma or equivalent in Occupational Health & Safety.
Proven experience in a similar HSE leadership role within the construction sector.
Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation and CDM Regulations.
Excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills.
Ability to work independently and travel to multiple sites.
Experience with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 preferred.
