HSE Manager
Great Yarmouth, Norfolk
£60k (24 days holiday plus stats, bonus scheme)
Our client, a leading manufacturing business, is seeking an HSE Manager to join their team.
Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and advice on compliance with statutory requirements and company standards through guidance and observation visits.
- Respond to requests for advice within the area of expertise, in collaboration with the SHE Manager and other relevant personnel.
- Undertake risk assessments related to SHE.
- Work proactively with operational teams throughout project lifecycles to ensure SHE considerations are integrated at all stages, with relevant control measures identified.
- Assist in the implementation of ISO 9001, 45001, and 14001 standards.
- Conduct active monitoring of company projects using the monitoring system.
- Highlight areas of poor practice or significant risk.
- Investigate incidents, producing detailed reports with root cause analysis and recommendations for improvement.
- Liaise with enforcing authorities as necessary.
- Assist in the review and updating of SHE policies and procedures.
- Work with senior management to develop and implement divisional strategies for SHE improvement.
- Stay informed about new legislation and industry best practices through journals and site visits.
- Raise SHE and sustainability awareness via toolbox talks and briefings, delivering training as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
- NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate (minimum requirement).
- NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 6 in OHAS (desired).
- Proactive support experience in operational business units.
- Up-to-date knowledge of UK SHE legislation.
- Experience with systems accredited to ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001.
- Relevant construction sector experience.
