Job summary

Vickerstock is seeking a Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager to lead on-site safety and sustainability strategies at our Glasgow site. You will drive HSE culture, ensure regulatory compliance and deliver continuous improvement across operations.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a Health, Safety, and Environmental management role within manufacturing or FMCG.
  • Strong understanding of HSE legislation, compliance standards, and audit requirements.
  • NEBOSH or equivalent HSE qualification (IOSH Managing Safely or higher preferred).
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to engage effectively across all levels.
  • Strong organisational and analytical abilities with attention to detail.
  • Proactive problem-solver with a continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead health, safety, and environmental systems on-site, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Advise the General Manager and site leadership on HSE performance and standards.
  • Lead site audits, inspections and risk assessments; implement corrective actions.
  • Manage incident investigations, maintain records, and ensure timely statutory reporting.
  • Oversee fire safety compliance, risk assessments, drills and documentation.
  • Coordinate environmental compliance activities (waste, permits, reporting).
  • Liaise with regulators, insurers and enforcement authorities as needed.
  • Support training and awareness programmes to strengthen HSE knowledge across teams.
  • Provide regular reports on HSE KPIs aligned with group standards.

A leading food manufacturing business is seeking a Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager to take the lead in shaping and delivering the site’s safety and sustainability strategy.

Role Overview

As HSE Manager, you’ll lead health, safety, and environmental systems on-site, ensuring compliance, promoting best practice, and driving a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and promote a strong health, safety, and environmental culture across the site.
  • Advise the General Manager and site leadership on compliance standards and HSE performance
  • Lead site audits, inspections, and risk assessments, implementing corrective and preventive measures as needed
  • Manage incident investigations, maintain accident records, and ensure statutory reporting is completed on time
  • Oversee fire safety compliance, including risk assessments, drills, and statutory documentation
  • Coordinate environmental compliance activities, including waste management, EPR permits, and sustainability reporting
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies such as the Environment Agency, insurers, and enforcement authorities
  • Support training and awareness programmes to strengthen HSE knowledge and engagement across teams
  • Provide regular reports on health, safety, and environmental KPIs, ensuring alignment with group standards
Your Profile
  • Proven experience in a Health, Safety, and Environmental management role within manufacturing or FMCG
