Job description

HSE Manager, Kent

Salary: up to c.£55,000 (DOE) + Benefits

Looking for a new HSE role that gives you the opportunity to lead change, embed new processes, and play a key role in business projects?

This newly created position is with an established food manufacturer that’s undergoing a period of significant change. There’s plenty to get stuck into as the business continues to grow.

They’ve recently revamped the HSE function across the group, started to digitise systems, launched a new e-learning platform, and kicked off a substantial Capex programme.

About the Role

Your first priority will be to engage with people across the business, building strong relationships to embed a more safety focused culture. The foundations are in place – now it’s about raising standards and driving improvements.

People engagement is crucial to this role. The site is in a good place in terms of compliance, but you’ll need to spend a lot of your time out in the factory to get buy-in and put safety at the forefront of all activities.

You’ll also develop and implement new systems and policies as the business prepares to move to new, bigger premises. As part of this transition, you will act as the HSE lead on various Capex and change projects.

About You

A background in Food production would be ideal, but our client is open to other industries. Here’s a few details of what’s important to them:

  • A proactive approach to embedding HSE standards through people engagement and effective communication. Ability to work collaboratively at all levels to lead change and improve standards. Project management experience. Highly organised, able to adapt quickly and prioritise a busy workload in a fast-paced environment. NEBOSH qualified and a good understanding of COSHH, DSEAR, and PUWER.

Why Apply?

This is a challenging role, but one offering the chance to make a big impact on a business which offers plenty of opportunities for development and progression.
