Job Description:

The HSE Improvement Specialist role requires a Full UK driving licence with regular travel to branches in the North East, North West & Scotland.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the Head of HSE in delivering the business’ HSE Annual Operating Plan through agreed improvement activities.
  • Identify and design continual improvement programmes based on risk profile, incident experience, and organizational learning, ensuring stakeholder buy-in.
  • Drive improvement programmes related to workplace transport, MHE, product storage, handling, out-of-branch activities, load security, and driver safety.
  • Participate in HSE forums and support projects to enhance safety culture.
  • Assist Distribution Centre management in improving HSE performance and culture.
  • Implement HSE improvement programmes and monitor success metrics.
  • Support high-risk branches with hands-on safety support and develop action plans.
  • Review HSE data streams to identify insights for risk reduction and safety improvement.
  • Resolve complex HSE issues escalated by advisors or the Group Head of Environment.
  • Support Incident Review Boards and ensure learnings and actions are documented and shared.
