Job Description:

HSE Improvement Specialist

This role requires a Full UK driving licence with regular travel to branches in the North East, North West & Scotland.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing support to the Head of HSE to deliver the business’ HSE Annual Operating Plan.
  • Designing and implementing continual improvement programmes based on risk profiles, incident experience, and industry learning, with stakeholder buy-in.
  • Focusing on areas such as workplace transport, MHE, product storage, handling, out-of-branch activities, load security, and driver safety.
  • Participating in HSE forums and supporting projects to improve safety culture and performance.
  • Supporting distribution centre management and BU leaders in safety initiatives and risk reduction.
  • Reviewing HSE data streams to identify insights and support risk mitigation efforts.
  • Assisting in resolving complex HSE issues escalated by regional teams.
  • Supporting Incident Review Boards and ensuring learnings are documented and shared.
