Job summary

Options Resourcing Ltd in High Wycombe is seeking an experienced HSE & Engineering Support Specialist to help maintain a safe site, support health, safety and environmental compliance, and coordinate engineering administration.

The role is a six-month fixed-term contract with a salary of £50,000–£55,000 per annum. You will work with HSE and Engineering teams, manage records, risk assessments, audits and inductions, driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in HSE coordination or similar role within manufacturing/industrial environments.
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety procedures.
• Experience maintaining compliance documents and accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day HSE activities across the site.
• Assist with risk assessments, workplace inspections, safety audits and corrective actions.
• Maintain HSE documentation, training records and compliance registers.
• Coordinate contractor inductions, permit-to-work documentation and contractor safety requirements.
• Assist incident and near-miss investigations, ensuring actions are tracked and closed.
• Promote safe working practices and continuous improvement across site teams.
• Assist with HSE reporting, compliance monitoring and audits (internal/external).
• Provide engineering administration support: maintenance records, work orders, CMMS entries.
• Support CMMS administration, ensuring maintenance information is documented and kept up-to-date.

The Opportunity

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturing company based in High Wycombe for an experienced HSE & Engineering Support Specialist to support health, safety and environmental compliance across its site.

Working closely with the HSE and Engineering teams, you will play a key role in maintaining a safe working environment, coordinating compliance activities and ensuring accurate documentation. The position will also involve engineering administration and maintenance coordination, offering a varied role within a busy manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day health, safety and environmental activities across the site.
• Assist with risk assessments, workplace inspections, safety audits and corrective action tracking.
• Maintain accurate HSE documentation, training records and compliance registers.
• Coordinate contractor inductions, permit-to-work documentation and contractor safety requirements.
• Support incident and near-miss investigations, ensuring actions are recorded and followed up.
• Promote safe working practices and continuous improvement across site teams.
• Assist with HSE reporting, compliance monitoring and internal and external audits.
• Provide engineering administration support, including maintenance records, work orders and preventative maintenance schedules.
• Support CMMS administration, ensuring maintenance information is accurately recorded and maintained.

Requirements Essential

• Previous experience in an HSE coordination, administration or similar role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Good understanding of workplace health and safety procedures.
• Experience maintaining compliance documentation and accurate records.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Confident communication skills, with the ability to work across multiple departments.
• A proactive approach and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Desirable

• NEBOSH, IOSH or another relevant Health & Safety qualification.
• Experience supporting risk assessments, audits and incident investigations.
• Knowledge of contractor management and permit-to-work systems.
• Previous experience within food manufacturing or FMCG.
• Familiarity with CMMS, D365 or other maintenance management systems.
