Job summary

Reed in Hatfield is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support a programme of audits, policy reviews and continuous improvement across a complex, regulated site.

The role requires NEBOSH or IOSH and a strong command of UK legislation, auditing, risk assessments and COSHH, with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive practical improvements in health and safety culture.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH or IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
• Experience as Health & Safety Advisor, HSE Advisor or Compliance professional.
• Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation, auditing, risk assessments and COSHH.
• Experience in regulated production environments such as pharma, FMCG, food or chemical processing.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Health & Safety audits across production, warehouse, laboratory and office environments.
• Review and update policies, procedures, SOPs, risk assessments and COSHH documentation.
• Identify compliance gaps and implement corrective actions.
• Support fire safety, PPE management and workplace safety controls.
• Investigate incidents and strengthen reporting and root cause analysis processes.
• Deliver Health & Safety training and guidance to managers and employees.
• Work with stakeholders to drive sustainable compliance improvements.
• Provide recommendations and progress updates to senior management.

Health & Safety Advisor – Pharmaceutical/FMCG/Manufacturing experience (6–Month Fixed–Term Contract)

Location: Hatfield
Contract: 6–Month FTC
Salary: GBP60k – GBP65k

Are you a Health & Safety Advisor with experience in manufacturing, pharmaceutical, food production, FMCG, engineering, laboratory, chemical processing or other regulated operational environments?

We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety professional to support a programme of compliance audits, process reviews and continuous improvement initiatives across a complex multi–functional site.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has worked within regulated production or operational environments and is confident driving compliance, improving systems and promoting a positive safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct Health & Safety audits across production, manufacturing, warehouse, laboratory and office environments.
• Review and update policies, procedures, SOPs, risk assessments and COSHH documentation.
• Identify compliance gaps and implement corrective actions.
• Support fire safety, PPE management and workplace safety controls.
• Investigate incidents and strengthen reporting and root cause analysis processes.

Skills & Experience

• NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
• Previous experience as a Health & Safety Advisor, HSE Advisor, Health & Safety Officer or Compliance professional.
• Strong understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation, auditing, risk assessments and COSHH.
• Experience within one or more of the following sectors:

  • Laboratory & Scientific Environments
  • Engineering & Industrial Manufacturing
  • Packaging Operations
