About the Role

To support the implementation of HSE Management systems and initiatives through engagement and training activities. Liaising with key stakeholders to identify and support the resolution of actions that drive safety and legal compliance improvements.

Provide competent H&S support to Site Management Teams, acting as a Business partner to Operational Heads to identify trends and take corrective actions to raise standards.

Act as ambassadors for a Culture of Trust, commitment, and learning through campaigns and initiatives to raise awareness, ensuring compliance as a minimum standard.

Support the delivery of HSE training as needed to ensure effective rollout of the HSE Capability Improvement Programme.

Key Accountabilities
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with internal stakeholders to provide support and guidance.
  • Keep HSE best practices, legal knowledge, and professional status up to date—maintain IOSH CPD and provide technical H&S expertise to ensure legal compliance.
  • Conduct support visits focusing on actions to improve standards based on incident trends and audit improvement plans, including verification of action closure following non-conformance.
  • Liaise with operational management to implement and monitor Group Standards and Risk Control Procedures.
  • Participate in management reviews, providing HSE updates on performance and initiatives for continuous improvement.
  • Provide internal HSE training and promote the wider capability improvement programme.
  • Facilitate risk assessments with operational teams to understand hazards and identify effective controls to minimize risks.
  • Challenge and coach colleagues on unsafe acts, systems, and procedures following the behavioural safety program.
  • Lead site walks and engagement forums to promote safety culture improvements.
  • Investigate serious accidents and support management reviews, ensuring key learnings are communicated; liaise with insurance teams as needed.
  • Support pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental health, conservation, and renewable energy initiatives.
