Job description

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic HSE and Security Coordinator to join our team in London.

The HSE and Security Officer will be responsible for implementing and monitoring safety and security protocols to protect staff, facilities, and resources. Responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, responding to incidents, and fostering a culture of safety.

Salary: £18 per hour

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours

Location: MOD Whitehall, London

Key responsibilities:

  • Identify potential security risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct safety audits and inspections regularly.
  • Respond to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms.
  • Investigate incidents and document findings.
  • Develop and deliver safety training for employees.
  • Promote safety awareness and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Enforce safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with management to update safety protocols.
  • Serve as a contact point for safety and security concerns.
  • Maintain communication with regional and national HSE teams.
  • Keep accurate records of incidents, drills, and inspections using AIR3 reporting tool.
  • Prepare management reports on safety and security issues.

Desirable skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications preferred.
  • Experience in security, training, or safety roles.
  • Strong observational and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to stay calm and make decisions under pressure.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.

  • May require irregular hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Physical demands include standing, walking, and emergency response.
