Job description

We are seeking a HSE Advisor to join our established HSE Team in Luton / Lincoln. You will work as part of a small team assessing existing policies, processes, and systems to ensure Leonardo’s services meet customer needs and align with company policies. The role includes investigation, assessment, training, support services, and health, safety & environment management.

The HSE Advisor will report to the site HSE Manager for the Luton Cluster, providing HSE advice and support across sites, with travel as required. This position can be based at either our Luton or Lincoln site.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting and guiding on various HSE matters
• Building relationships with stakeholders to promote a positive safety culture
• Driving continuous improvement in HSE standards and practices
• Managing all HSE aspects across Luton-managed sites
• Maintaining risk & COSHH assessment databases and safety data sheets
• Conducting contractor and visitor inductions
• Performing internal HSE audits against ISO 45001, 14001, 50001 standards
• Reporting via Balanced Scorecard (BSC)
• Updating emergency preparedness and training
• Reviewing HSE documentation
• Keeping the HSE notice board current
• Leading HSE projects as assigned
• Carrying out site safety inspections
• Participating in company-wide projects as needed

Requirements:

• Ability to achieve SC level clearance
• Proven track record of delivering HSE improvements
• Knowledge of ISO 14001, 45001, 50001 management systems
• Experience in running and auditing HSE management systems
• Understanding of safety culture development
• NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum), ideally working towards NEBOSH Diploma/NVQ Level 6
• Self-motivated, able to work independently
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Proficient in MS Office
• Strong analytical skills
• Resilient, able to work under pressure
• Willing to travel and work at different sites
• Experience in Business Continuity planning
