HSE Advisor (Environmental)

Location: Shaftesbury, Dorset

Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm

Employment Type: Full Time

Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 (DOE)

Are you passionate about driving environmental improvements and sustainability initiatives? We’re seeking a dedicated HSE Advisor (Environmental) to join the Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) team at a leading UK-based food manufacturer.

In this newly created role, you’ll play a key part in shaping and delivering the site’s environmental agenda, promoting best practices, and supporting the delivery of the wider group sustainability strategy.

Role Overview:

As part of the SHE team, you’ll lead initiatives to improve environmental performance, raise awareness, and ensure regulatory compliance. You'll support the development and maintenance of the environmental management system to ISO14001 standards, and champion efforts to reach Net Zero carbon emissions by 2040.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Promote environmental best practices across the site
  2. Monitor environmental KPIs and report incidents, near misses, and non-conformances
  3. Maintain and enhance the ISO14001-certified environmental management system
  4. Support compliance with Environmental Permitting Regulations
  5. Oversee Scopes 1, 2, and 3 emissions and assist with carbon footprint reporting
  6. Drive site initiatives related to packaging, waste, water, and energy efficiency
