Overview

JOB VACANCY: HS&E Advisor

Location: Henstridge

Hours: 06:00 - 15:00, Monday to Friday (40 hours/week)

Employment Type: Full-time

Reports To: HS&E Manager

Qualifications
  • Essential: NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the HS&E team to drive continuous improvements across the business.
  • Monitor and review operational and written procedures for compliance and effectiveness.
  • Propose and implement new protective and preventative measures when required.
  • Ensure a consistent approach to health and safety across all company sites and satellite offices.
  • Keep policies and procedures updated in line with current legislation.
  • Conduct workplace risk assessments and create safe systems of work.
  • Deliver HS&E induction training for new staff and visitors.
  • Design, produce, and deliver internal HS&E training and toolbox talks.
  • Arrange and manage external training requirements.
  • Investigate and analyse accidents, incidents, and near-misses to identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Conduct routine site inspections and audits, document findings, and follow up on corrective measures.
  • Liaise with occupational health services and coordinate staff appointments.
  • Ensure visitor and contractor compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Support ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 audits and maintain compliance.
  • Champion environmental and sustainability initiatives, including efforts toward Net Zero.
  • Support inspection planning for operational equipment (LOLER, PUWER, etc.).
  • Manage and assess contractors' compliance and on-site safety.
  • Act as a point of contact for insurers, local authorities, and regulatory bodies.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate HS&E data and documentation.
  • Identify and escalate health, safety, and environmental risks.
  • Participate actively in the company's Quality and Environmental Management Systems.
