JOB VACANCY: HS&E Advisor
Location: Henstridge
Hours: 06:00 - 15:00, Monday to Friday (40 hours/week)
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports To: HS&E Manager
Qualifications
- Essential: NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the HS&E team to drive continuous improvements across the business.
- Monitor and review operational and written procedures for compliance and effectiveness.
- Propose and implement new protective and preventative measures when required.
- Ensure a consistent approach to health and safety across all company sites and satellite offices.
- Keep policies and procedures updated in line with current legislation.
- Conduct workplace risk assessments and create safe systems of work.
- Deliver HS&E induction training for new staff and visitors.
- Design, produce, and deliver internal HS&E training and toolbox talks.
- Arrange and manage external training requirements.
- Investigate and analyse accidents, incidents, and near-misses to identify root causes and corrective actions.
- Conduct routine site inspections and audits, document findings, and follow up on corrective measures.
- Liaise with occupational health services and coordinate staff appointments.
- Ensure visitor and contractor compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Support ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 audits and maintain compliance.
- Champion environmental and sustainability initiatives, including efforts toward Net Zero.
- Support inspection planning for operational equipment (LOLER, PUWER, etc.).
- Manage and assess contractors' compliance and on-site safety.
- Act as a point of contact for insurers, local authorities, and regulatory bodies.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate HS&E data and documentation.
- Identify and escalate health, safety, and environmental risks.
- Participate actively in the company's Quality and Environmental Management Systems.
