Job description
Overview

HSE Recruitment are working with a large manufacturing site in Shoreham-by-Sea seeking a HSE Advisor to support the site in improving compliance and culture across the site. It is a large, complex site with around 350 staff, encompassing assembly, manufacturing, fuels, chemicals, FLT and environmental permits. You will work alongside another HSEQ Advisor, the SLT on site and the support of the HSEQ Director to build and improve culture and ensure high levels of compliance.

The culture is generally positive but there are pockets that are more challenging. This site is receptive to change and aims to improve, so with the right person they can make a meaningful impact. You will manage ISO systems; 45001, 14001, 9001 and 27001, deal with internal and external audits, trend analysis, risk assessment reviews and training, among other responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Support and drive improvements in HSE culture and compliance across the site.
  • Manage ISO systems: 45001, 14001, 9001 and 27001.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, lead audit activities, and oversee corrective actions.
  • Conduct trend analysis and risk assessment reviews; contribute to training programs to raise awareness and competence.
  • Collaborate with the SLT, other HSEQ Advisor and the HSEQ Director to implement improvements.
  • Engage with staff at all levels to translate technical requirements into clear, actionable messages.
Person specification / Qualifications
  • NEBOSH Certificate level as a minimum.
  • Strong HSE Advisor experience.
  • Background in manufacturing, engineering or production is advantageous but not essential if the personality fit is right.
  • Internal auditor, fire safety or environmental/waste experience would be desirable.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills; hands-on, proactive, self-motivated with fresh ideas; ability to engage people and drive improvement.
Remuneration

Salary is negotiable; budget is ideally £40,000–£50,000, with potential for more for the right candidate.
