Job description
Overview

HSE Recruitment are working with a large manufacturing site in Shoreham-by-Sea who are looking for an HSE Advisor to support the site in improving compliance and culture across the site.

It is a large, complex site with around 350 staff. Risks on site include assembly, manufacturing, fuels, chemicals, FLT, and environmental permits — what you would expect for a busy production facility. Working alongside the other HSEQ Advisor, the SLT on site and with the support of the HSEQ Director, you will be building and improving the culture and ensuring high levels of compliance.

The culture is generally positive but there are pockets that are more challenging. The site is receptive to change and wants to improve, so with the right person they can really make their mark. You will be managing ISO systems; 45001, 14001, 9001 and 27001, dealing with internal and external audits, trend analysis, risk assessment reviews and training to name a few responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Manage ISO systems: 45001, 14001, 9001 and 27001, ensuring ongoing compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and follow up on action plans.
  • Conduct trend analysis and risk assessment reviews; contribute to training and awareness across the site.
  • Collaborate with the HSEQ Director, other HSEQ Advisor, and site SLT to build and improve culture and compliance levels.
  • Engage with various stakeholders across production, engineering, and environmental permits to maintain safe and compliant operations.
Person spec
  • What’s most important is finding someone who is switched on, self-motivated, driven, engaging, able to influence, good with people, strong communicator at all levels, hands on, come with fresh ideas, and a desire to keep improving. Ability to translate technical knowledge into language that others understand and buy into.
  • NEBOSH Certificate level as a minimum
  • Strong Advisor experience
  • Background in manufacturing, engineering or production would be an advantage but not above the personality traits we need.
  • Internal auditor, fire safety or environmental/ waste experience would be desirable
