Job summary

West Dean is seeking a proactive People Apprentice to join the People Team on a fixed-term basis. You will gain hands-on HR experience while working toward a Level 3 HR Support Apprenticeship, with four days on-site at West Dean and one day at college in a Westminster/Chichester College setting.

You will assist with recruitment, onboarding, payroll support, employee records, HR systems and reporting, while developing professional HR skills in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Organised and enthusiastic with a proactive approach.
• Keen to learn and develop HR skills through apprenticeship.
• Confidentiality and good IT skills are important.
• Previous admin or customer service experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate recruitment activities and support new starters.
• Prepare employment contracts and respond to staff queries.
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR data.
• Contribute to HR reporting and compliance checks.
